The Irish Small & Medium Enterprises Association (ISME) have claimed Irish SMEs are losing out on the €8.4 billion digital economy due to poor broadband and insufficient knowledge.

The ISME research shows that only 14% of SMEs are currently capable of fully trading online, while 8% can take orders but not payment online. This places SMEs at a huge disadvantage in Ireland’s €8.4 billion digital economy, as consumers increase their online purchases at a rate of 20% per annum.
