More than one third of businesses in Ireland have experienced a cyber attack so far in 2017. This is according to the latest Dublin Information Sec 2017 survey of Irish businesses released today.

A further 54% expect a cyber attack on their business before the end of the year, according to the survey which comes ahead of the second annual cyber security conference on November 1st, sponsored by eir Business, a Cisco Gold Partner.

Some 82% of respondents agreed that IT Security is a priority at board level, however for almost 2 in 10 businesses, this is not the case. Staff training to prevent against a data security breach is in place at almost 6 in 10 companies surveyed.

Dublin Information Sec 2017 will take place on Wednesday November 1st in the RDS, Dublin, from 08.00 until 17.30. The event will be opened by Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise and Innovation, Frances Fitzgerald.

US Assistant Secretary for Cyber Security at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Jeanette Manfra, was announced today as a keynote speaker for Dublin Information Sec 2017.
