New figures have shown that startup companies in Dublin are 80 times more likely to get cash funding than Cork firms. The VenturePluse report which was carried out by the Irish Venture Capital Association (IVCA), reveal that Dublin received at least €227m of the €307m raised by startups in the first six months of this year.

The figures also showed that startups in Cork only attracted €2.9m while Limerick got nothing. These statistics will be worrying for organisations such as Enterprise Ireland which try to foster tech start-ups environments outside the capital.
